‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh would return under certain circumstances
We are still likely weeks away at this point from learning who exactly will be the judges on the next season of “The X Factor,” but that of course isn’t stopping some people from going back and discussing it further, including former judge Louis Walsh.
Speaking in a new interview with Closer, Walsh does enough to hedge his bets here in saying that there are certain conditions in which he would consider a return, but that may be it:
“Simon’s already said he wishes he hadn’t let me go … He wanted to bring me back in the middle of the last series, but I thought it’d be odd with five judges. I wouldn’t go back unless it was the right people.”
We know that specifically, Walsh loves a panel that includes himself, Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, and Sharon Osbourne, but the odds of that happening are at this point fairly slim. Despite all of the buzz we have a hard time seeing him return, mostly because the last time he was on, there were many complains that he was not really bringing anything new to the table anymore. The show would ultimately be better off in our mind with some fresh faces, but with a twist to go along with it where we had a chance to see some of the comedy that was there when Walsh was ultimately come back in some other forms. He was certainly good for producing some of the sillier, campy moments that were present on the show.
