‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Joe Giudice enters prison; see statement
Teresa Giudice may be released now from prison after serving the better part of a year there, but this week it has been confirmed that her husband Joe has now ventured out to Fort Dix in order to start serving a sentence of his own, which could last more than three years.
In a statement today, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star’s attorney James J. Leonard Jr. had the following to say per People Magazine:
“Joe Giudice surrendered himself to the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix today at 12 p.m. to begin serving his sentence. His brother, his sister and several other members of the Giudice family, as well as myself, were present when he turned himself in to the prison, including Teresa. It was obviously a very emotional day, but this is a very strong family with a tremendous support system and they will get through this, just as they did when Teresa was away.”
Joe’s sentence and Teresa’s time in prison are both probably going to be major storylines in their own way for the upcoming season of the Bravo series, if for no other reason than that audiences will flock to it and it is pretty hard to ignore that this is a significant part of the lives of both of them. We imagine it’ll be emotional, but the odd thing is that it may actually bring out a newfound sense of community between some of the cast members on the show in a way that was not there previously.
