Kim Fields leaving ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ after just one season
Clearly, Kim Fields may have agreed that “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was not for her. In an interview with The Rickey Smiley Morning Show earlier this week, the former star of “The Facts of Life” revealed that she is departing the show after just one season on it.
In explaining her decision, Fields cited that she did it for “the experience” and wanted to just go in, do it, and then move on to something else:
“It feels more like Brett Favre and the Jets, you know — I’m done … I think about too, at the beginning of the season, what did my mama say? ‘Get in and get out.’ Listen to your mama.”
Ultimately, it was fairly easy to project that the show was building towards this particular ending based on some of the obvious evidence. Kim did not seem to fit in well with most of the cast, and really did not seem down for some of the trademark drama the vast majority of the time. Eventually she did decide to partake in some of it, but mostly as a result of the actions of some other women. She can move on and do something else, and we figure that she’ll have no problem doing that.
Also, Kim now has a different platform in which she can shine as a cast member on this season of “Dancing with the Stars.” She is the third person with “RHOA” ties on this show following NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak.
