NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Laith Al-Saadi, Brittany Kennel help close Battle Rounds
On Tuesday night’s “The Voice,” the Battle Rounds are going to be coming to a close with (hopefully) a few interesting showdowns. Yes, there’s also a montage. Curse the montages!
As per usual, we’re going to refresh this article with some more battles as the night goes on.
Laith Al-Saadi defeats Matt Tedder, “Honky Tonk Woman” by the Rolling Stones (Team Adam) – Sometimes, you have contestants on the show who are probably better in groups than as a solo act, and that’s not a bad thing. Matt’s probably a killer musician, but for the sake of this show we cannot say we’re too shocked by Adam’s decision. Laith’s extremely versatile, and that will probably show itself to be a great thing by the end of the season.
Caity Peters defeats Joe Vivona, “Honesty” by Billy Joel (Team Pharrell) – Another strong battle, and this is one where vocally, we could have gone either way. Therefore, we’re not shocked about Pharrell’s choice, and we probably would not have been regardless of the finale choice.
Montage – Peyton Parker defeats Gina Castanzo, Joe Maye defeats Ayanna Jahnee, and Owen Danoff defeats John Gilman. Arg at the montages!
Brittany Kennel defeats Trey O’Dell, “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac (Team Blake) – Yea, this probably sounds familiar: It was the last battle of the season, and there was a steal still on the table. This is one of those things that we really don’t like about this round, since it was so easy to chart where we were going here in the end. Christina steals Trey.
