‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 19 video: Why does Robert Wagner turn up?

Is Anthony DiNozzo Sr. looking to get his feet wet with a new case? Based on the sneak peek below from Tuesday night’s new episode of “NCIS,” that does seem to be the case. Here’s there mostly out of intrigue after arriving early to have lunch with his son, and he learns rather quickly that there is a case that needs to be worked on.

As for the rest of the preview, you hear a thing or two about McGee and Delilah, there’s some nice banter, and in the end, we’ve got the setup in place for the story-of-the-week Tuesday. It’s not the most in-depth sneak peek that we’ve ever seen, but there is a question that you should wonder here: Is this meant to be a send-off to Robert Wagner on the show?

While it is possible that we could end up seeing Wagner turn up again in some capacity later this season, that is not confirmed right now so we should just take this sneak preview as it is: A fun interaction with a notable guest star. Could we still see him after Michael Weatherly’s exit? We suppose that it is possible in theory if the producers still want to give us Tony updates after he is gone,but we’re not sure they will do that since it is a reminder that he is no longer a part of the show anymore. That’s why we don’t really get a lot of references to Ziva, Kate, or many other cast members who are no longer around.

In the end, let’s just hope that this episode gives us at least a little more insight into why Tony could leave.
