‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 20 (finale) spoilers: ‘Kingdom Come’ and tragedy’s aftermath

Fosters -

Tonight, “The Fosters” brought us “The Show,” an episode that had an enormous layer of tragedy wrapped underneath what seemed to be the Romeo & Juliet musical put on by Brandon. While there were many lighter moments over the course of the hour, things certainly ended in a shocking manner as we saw the death of Jack.

Given the relationships that he had with Callie and Jude in particular, next week’s finale “Kingdom Come” can be expected to be an intense, emotional affair. The synopsis below does a pretty good job of laying out specifically which you can expect to see unfold:

“In the wake of a tragic loss, the family pulls together and searches for answers. Callie makes a shocking discovery that has her questioning her loyalties. Nick gives Mariana an expensive gift, adding to her guilt about what happened between her and Mat. Meanwhile, Brandon tells his moms that Cortney has a child, and finds himself in a predicament after her ex-husband kicks Cortney out of their apartment.”

Is Brandon really going to be ready to become an instant father at this age? That’s a hard thing to imagine for him right now; pretty much every relationship on this show other than maybe Lena and Stef will be on a collision course of the next hour, but unfortunately for Stef, she is going to have to deal with her own problems still stemming from having to see Jack’s body at the end of tonight’s episode. Even as a police officer, that will be difficult for her to swallow.
