‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 star Carice van Houten, Guy Pearce expecting

Mrs. Carter: How about this for a different sort of “Game of Thrones” story?

We’ve spoken quite a bit as of late about some potential events coming on the upcoming sixth season, but not so much as to what is going on with some of the actors outside of this show. This article changes that, as Carice van Houten (known for playing Melisandre on the HBO hit is now expecting a child with Guy Pearce! This news was confirmed by People Magazine.

Carice has certainly been in the headlines as of late for Melisandre, as her character has long been suspected to be one of the reasons why Jon Snow could be resurrected, if it turns out that this is in fact what happens to him at the start of season 6. There have been rumors aplenty about the character’s fate, and we’re going to have to wait until the show’s return on April 24 to find out the truth one way or another.

As for whether or not this pregnancy impacts her future on the show (provided her character survives the upcoming sixth season), we highly doubt it. After all, there are so many tricks that can be done for many characters these days, and while her character does frequently disrobe on the show, there are always body doubles if Melisandre is not planning to unleash any more demon-babies on the world anytime soon. Very recently, Lena Headey used a double for the infamous sequence in King’s Landing as seen in the season finale.
