‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 17 preview: Elizabeth’s Chile crisis

MadamInternational relations are often complex, and that is one of the many good things that “Madam Secretary” does tend to present on many of their episodes. Sometimes something may appear as though it is the right thing at one point, only for it to turn out to be the wrong thing a little ways down the road. Things take time to sort out, and when you look at the complicated relationship between government and the people, this is really just increased exponentially.

Now that we’ve said all of this, we present for you the latest sneak peek from the next all-new episode of the CBS show. In this preview, you can clearly see that Tea Leoni’s character of Elizabeth is surprised to be called in to a meeting about negotiations with a mine in Chile, but the problem here is that there are protests over a previous agreement that are spreading to Santiago.

Is this a crisis for America? It can be, if their name is besmirched in any way. This is something that Elizabeth will have to tackle at some point over the course of the episode, especially when it starts to actually interfere with some elements in her personal life. Let’s just say that her actions will not go unnoticed by some people stateside.

The sneak peek does also have a few lighter moments to it, including one involving a scone that really has us wanting a scone right now, before getting around to some of the nitty-gritty.
