‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ spotlight: Will Jodie Sweetin, Keo Motsepe bring fun to the competition?

Jodie -

Sometimes, appearing on a reality show at the right time is really all about timing, and for Jodie Sweetin, she really couldn’t have figured out a better time in order to go on “Dancing with the Stars” than this season. Maybe she’s asked before and turned it down, but on this particular, she may have a better chance to win than she ever has before.

As for determining the reasons why, that’s something we are happy to now explain in the latest edition of our show spotlight series.

Claim to fame – Actress and TV personality, known primarily for her role as Stephanie Tanner in “Full House” and now “Fuller House,” the new version of the classic sitcom airing on Netflix. The show was recently renewed for a second season. She is the second “Full House” regular to the show after Candace Cameron Bure.

Partner – Keo Motsepe. While Keo has appeared on the show several times as a pro dancer, he’s never been able to last longer than a few weeks. Then again, he’s mostly been paired with either older contestants or ones who are not extremely well-known.

Strengths – She’s a natural performer, and being in front of a live audience doing a sitcom is something that we think does translate well to the ballroom. Sure, there’s more choreography, but you’re used to having to sell a character and impress people by being super-expressive. We also have to at least assume that she talked to Candace about doing the show, and maybe she got some advice from her as to how to prepare for it.

Weaknesses – Maybe we are over-estimating the popularity of “Fuller House,” and that it really will not benefit Sweetin this season as much as we think that it could. Otherwise, the only real discernible weakness we can think of is that there is a certain amount of athleticism that comes with being a dancer on this show, and we’re not sure what she has there.

Prediction – It’s hard to imagine Jodie being sent home early, especially with “Fuller House” still on the minds of many. Our feeling is that she will make it until the least top 7 based on her name recognition alone (provided she’s not a complete disaster), and from there it is anyone’s guess how well she will far.
