‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7 spoilers: Will Vanessa Ray come back as Charlotte?

The seventh season of “Pretty Little Liars” is coming aboard Freeform this summer, and in the wake of the recent season 6 finale, we know that there are quite a few things that are going to be changing. For one, we’re going to have to get some more information about Dr. Elliot Rollins, who turns out to be not the nice man we once assumed that he was, and also how Jessica DiLaurentis had a twin this whole time in Mary Drake.

There’s obviously some sort of history between Charlotte DiLaurentis a.k.a. CeCe Drake and Elliot, and this is something that creator Marlene King is hoping to get into more via flashbacks. As she tells Variety, it is mostly a case of just ensuring that she can get Vanessa Ray back on the show:

“We have a plan for some flashbacks with Vanessa [Ray] who plays Charlotte, and we hope we can get her back on the show because she’s on ‘Blue Bloods,’ but that story will be told and hopefully through flashbacks. There is a rich history there between Charlotte and the character that we know as Elliot Rollins, and we’ll learn a lot more about that in Season 7 and why Rollins is doing what he’s doing.”

We do think that Ray will be back in some capacity, given mostly that with the timing for season 7 filming, there should be some space between when this show is filming to when “Blue Bloods” will likely resume work. It hasn’t been renewed for a seventh season yet, but with it recently rivaling “Shark Tank” as the top show on Friday nights, it is really just a formality at this point.
