‘Daredevil’ season 2 spoilers: On balancing Elektra, The Hand, and The Punisher

In just a couple of days, many people are suddenly going to become extremely invested in a certain superhero once more. “Daredevil” is getting set to launch on Netflix, and there are a variety of reasons to be intrigued by what the writers and producers are bringing to the table.

One of the biggest ones, though, is that the team working on the show are really assembling what is now quite the motley crew of interesting adversaries, and we are certainly intrigued to see what happens when the likes of The Hand, Elektra, and The Punisher all end up becoming a part of the series in their own way. Is it possible to balance all of their stories out? Speaking on this subject to TV Guide, executive producer Marco Ramirez passed along the following message that gives us hope that it is:

“We had 13 hours, which was great. We’re not talking about cramming six villains into one movie or six heroes into one movie that’s two, two-and-a-half hours long. The trick to us is just making them all feel like they came from the same Hell’s Kitchen. … It all had to feel like part of our world. I think the first season did a really great job of establishing what that world is and what’s possible in our world.”

In the end, maybe this won’t be a case where we have to worry too much in the first place regarding whether or not we are getting too many characters at the same time; nobody says that these people have to only be in the first season only, and they could turn up at some point in the future.
