‘Supergirl’ spoilers: Show exec on ‘The Flash’ crossover

Supergirl -Yesterday was an opportunity for “Supergirl” to have her moment in the sun at PaleyFest, and there were of course plenty of questions asked regarding just what we could end up seeing for Kara Zor-El the rest of the way this season.

Of course, there were also a few questions regarding “Worlds Finest,” which does make a whole lot of sense when you consider that this is the long-awaited crossover with “The Flash.” While producers did not give too much away about the story for the installment during the panel discussion, Greg Berlanti did say the following (per Deadline):

“We needed to create a way to do it. We had to introduce Superman since you’ve heard about him and you’ve heard about Supergirl, but in worlds of Arrow and Flash, they didn’t exist in that world. We introduced the multiverse in The Flash this year, and that was always our way in.”

Ultimately, one thing that you shouldn’t expect to see on the show moving forward is a direct cameo from Superman, given that this is Kara’s story. (Also, we figure that at the moment, DC Comics would prefer that his story be saved more for the big screen given that you’ve got “Batman v. Superman” coming up in theaters at the end of the month, presumably to huge box-office totals.)

Finally, this panel revealed no real information on the James / Kara / Winn love triangle, though Jeremy Jordan did reveal that he lobbed to make the Winn character gay at one point to bring some more representation into the show.
