‘Girl Meets World’ season 3: Premiere date options and more

Tonight, the Disney Channel is saying farewell to one of their most popular shows (or at least with the older generation) in “Girl Meets World” … at least for the time being. One of the luxuries that comes with how they’ve mapped out this show right now is that there is no real concern as to its future. It was renewed for a third season quite a while ago, and filming for it has already begun.

So when will these episodes start to actually come on the air? Season 2 premiered the second week of May, and that may be a reasonable guess this time around, as well. That’s enough time to have people missing the show, and this is the perfect sort of show to run through the summer. Families will have the time to watch it, and there’s a little less competition on the air.

As for what we know right now, it appears that season 3 is going to be all about the next phase in Riley Matthews’ life: High school. She, Maya, Lucas, and the rest of the cast are preparing for a new phase, and with that come many changes. The romance arc will continue, but it’s wrong to think that this is a show really about romance first and foremost. It’s about growing up, and preparing for what the world will someday throw at you. That’s why the messages of it, even if they are at times hokey, are still important.
