‘Girl Meets World’ season 2 finale: Boss on Maya – Lucas – Riley story, season 3 continuation

Legacy -Tomorrow night on the Disney Channel, “Girl Meets World” is concluding with “Girl Meets Legacy,” an episode designed to signal the end of middle school for many of our favorite characters. Also, you will get a chance to see what is coming up next for Riley, Lucas, and Maya after their characters have been romantically intertwined at least somewhat throughout the season, with the story last peaking in “Girl Meets the New Year” when Farkle blew open the door on Riley’s feelings.

Will this storyline continue into season 3? Based on what creator Michael Jacobs told TheWrap recently, it appears that way. With that said, don’t necessarily expect a love triangle to be at the core of everything that the show is doing:

“We think that “Boy Meets World” always benefited from its soap opera qualities. There were certainly, at the heart, the relationship between Cory and Topanga. I think they broke up and got back together 29 times. The relationship between Shawn and Angela — all of the relationships — there was always a triangle on “Boy Meets World,” which was Eric, Jack and Rachel, which sustained for years. On “Girl Meets World,” if the audience perceives that what this is about is a love triangle, then they don’t know us. There is a much bigger and broader conceptual question that we are answering with what appears to be a triangle between Riley, Maya and Lucas.”

We feel like one of these questions is simply what it means to be friends in 2016, and also what it means to grow up in this time. Relationships and friendships are meant to grow and evolve, and the only thing that you can really do is be in tune to the changes and try to prepare for them. This was echoed in the recent episode “Girl Meets the Bay Window.”
