ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Can Olivia save Mellie from her own mistakes?
If you had told us around a year ago that we would be writing the title above for an episode of “Scandal,” we would have been convinced that we were starting to lose our mind. After all, the idea of Olivia really doing anything to willingly help Mellie Grant seems ridiculous, and one of the main reasons for that is because it was ridiculous. Things were a little bit different back when they both had some sort of incentive to be around Fitz.
While the two have worked together at times the past few weeks on her bid to be President, there are limits to that … and they will be tested further on the upcoming March 24 episode entitled “Pencils Down.” The synopsis below offers up some further scoop on what to expect:
“When Mellie makes a very public faux pas, Olivia must decide how far she’ll go to fix it. Meanwhile, the Gladiators learn valuable intel about Jake’s new love interest, and David Rosen seeks advice about his love triangle with Liz North and Susan Ross.”
Here’s our advice for David: Go back in time and make sure that this doesn’t happen. It’s such a mess that he’s gotten himself into, especially since Susan is clearly to us the better person of the two, and therefore is the one likely to get hurt once this is over. In due time, there could be a point where things blow up in his face. Name the last time there was a secret love triangle on a show and that did not happen.
