TV Madness: Can ‘Poldark’ overtake ‘Once Upon a Time’ in final Round 1 battle?
Today marks the final edition of Round One in our TV Madness poll series, and today the focus is firmly on two shows that could not be more different. We’ve got a fantasy / fairy-tale series airing on American television, and then one of the most popular historical dramas from Britain. Sure, the two series do air in both countries in due time; our point here is more that there are huge differences when it comes to their content and the ways their fans support them.
With all of this said, we’re feeling pretty confident that we’ve saved one of the best battles here for last. You only have until March 10 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific time to get your votes in for this category, so we hope that you don’t hesitate to make your favorite known!
“Once Upon a Time” (2) – A show that provides a lot of magic when it comes to its story, but also one that has inspired many of its fans to follow their pursuits and be creative. It’s show completely different than any other that is out there, and we’ve very much enjoyed seeing its evolution. We are currently in the Underworld right now, and what we can offer you in terms of further scoop is that Sunday night’s installment will feature the debut of Hercules. You’re also going to be seeing Meg at some point in the near future.
“Poldark” (7) – Now, we turn over the BBC series, which just finished filming this week its upcoming second season. This is an adaptation that has been around for decades, but we feel like a big component in its appeal right now is that it has such a strong, capable lead in Aidan Turner, and also beautifully-set sequences and incredibly-juicy drama. It’s the sort of show that really immerses you in another world, which is why it is one of the few British dramas to really break through all over the world.
