‘Teen Wolf’ season 5 finale review: Bloody footprints; Theo, the Beast of Gevaudan’s last battles
You’ve been waiting to see the final showdown on “Teen Wolf” regarding the infamous Beast of Gevaudan, and this came to you in full on Tuesday night’s season 5 finale.
How was it? In a word, epic. We feel like this had to be the fight many people were hoping for. The Beast proved itself strong, but it also proved itself flawed. Right when Sebastien was about to kill Scott, he saw within him the memory of Allison a.k.a. the descendant of Marie-Jeanne. This was enough of a distraction for Lydia to come in and with a good shout, free Mason from his prison. With the help of his friends, the Beast was finished off without any major characters losing their lives in the process.
With Malia managing to defeat and sap the power from the Desert Wolf, everything was starting to become normal again. The only hardship before we got to the end of the episode was Kira going away as a part of a deal she made with the Skinwalkers, one that was critical in stopping Theo once and for all (or at least we think, since we never saw him actually die). This is a chance for Kira to earn her stripes, and hopefully come back to Scott in time.
In the end, it felt like this was going to be a happy finale for the show, but of course it couldn’t end like that, could it? While Stiles decided to look at his future in law enforcement and while he started to bond once more with Lydia, some bloody footprints made it very clear that there is some sort of monstrous threat still out there. As for what it is, let’s just wait to season 6 … but for now, let’s call this a very satisfying finale. Grade: B+.
