Ratings: ‘Gotham’ season 2, ‘Castle’ season 8 steady; ‘Blindspot’ down
We’re writing this ratings article a little bit later than usual, and with that we’re going to go ahead and use the final ratings data more for reference as opposed to the original ones. After all, they’re always the clearer option to begin with.
The good news – There were no shows that posted some sort of enormously substantial gain on the night, so you can go ahead and hand out a sad face over that right now. However, we can still tell you that “Gotham” (1.5 in the 18-49 demographic) and “Castle” (1.1) both at least managed to stay consistent in comparison to their most-recent episode rating. The same goes for “Lucifer,” which stayed fairly steady at a 1.3.
The bad news – It was expected that “The Bachelor” (2.2) would drop given that not as many people care about “The Women Tell All,” a night that is routinely considered to be one of the most boring ones produced for the show. The biggest loser is probably “Blindspot,” given that it adjusted down to what is a new series-low rating in 1.7. While we’re certainly still optimistic about the show’s future (it already has a second season), it is experiencing a few midseason doldrums now that we’re in the time of year where there are so many options for people beyond just watching episodes of some of their favorite stuff.
Also, we continue to be bummed for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which continues to hang on for dear life after posting some far-from-stellar numbers on The CW.
