‘Mr. Robot’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Office’ alum Craig Robinson lands guest spot

Well, it feels like you can officially file the following under “things that we are incredibly shocked about”: It appears as though Craig Robinson has been cast for a recurring role on the upcoming second season of USA’s “Mr. Robot.”

Sources confirm that the comedian, who had his own comedy “Mr. Robinson” canceled recently at NBC, is going to be recurring in the second season. Unfortunately, there’s not too much known at present about his role other than that he is going to be playing the part of Ray, someone from the same neighborhood as Elliot (Rami Malek). We do like the decision for Craig to take a more dramatic turn, since it could expand the sort of roles that are going to be offered to him at some point in the future.

The second season of “Mr. Robot” is going to more than likely premiere on USA later this summer, and this show certainly will be facing some pretty high expectations when you consider some of what has happened in the months since the end of the show. It’s won a cavalcade of various awards, and has proven itself to be beloved and then some by a multitude of people all over the world. The good thing is that Sam Esmail seems to have planned ahead on much of the series, and with that, there should be less concern over a sophomore slump.

Stay tuned, as we’ll have more scoop on the show once we find out about it.
