‘Billions’ episode 7 preview: Wendy, Axe talk things out

Is Bobby Axelrod on “Billions” too cocky for his own good? We feel like if we were to ask that question now to Wendy Rhoades, we think we would know the answer a thousand times over: Yes, yes, and then yes once more.

Basically, at the end of this past episode there was a chance for Axe and Chuck to get a deal done that would have limited some of his power, but also potentially kept him out of prison. Ultimately, neither party could agree because they were both too darn full of themselves, and of course she’s unhappy about it in the sneak peek below. She’s more than aware that she functions as the liaison between the two in some ways (even directly), and this was her get-out-of-all-this card to have it go down okay.

With that being said, Wendy may think that she is in somewhat of a better position than she really is. She is under the impression, or at least was at the end of this past episode, that Chuck was going to be getting out of this investigation by handing it to someone else. However, he still wants to be informed of some things on the sly, and we can definitely imagine this causing a few problems at some point down the road.

We’ll be back on Sunday night with a full review of this episode, but for now we’ll say that our anticipation is high that this will be quite the unpredictable showdown. There’s been little to no evidence of anything otherwise.
