‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: Phaedra Parks prepares kids to see Apollo Nida

Phaedra -We’ve said it a few times over that there are really not too many things about “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” at this point that we can classify as truly emotional. There is so much of it that is rinse-and-repeat drama, and the majority of it revolves around stuff that nobody really cares that much about.

However, there are some exceptions to the rule here and there, and you are going to see one of them in the sneak peek below for Sunday night’s new episode. Specifically, you are going to see Phaedra Parks decide to take her children to see Apollo Nida in prison, and it’s a difficult journey for them. She knows that she wants them to see their father, but at the same time, she’s worried about the long-term consequences, and if they will really understand entirely what is going on. She doesn’t want to create a traumatic environment for them.

This is one of those moments where we do admire Phaedra’s guts, and how she is able to keep things together for the sake of her family. This is what makes her one of the more fascinating people in the Bravo franchise; there are plenty of people who can get into screaming fights within the world of this show, but many of them are a little more superficial. There’s an interesting amount of depth here.

We’ll have more on this episode later this weekend, including if Phaedra and her family are able to complete the trip. Stay tuned…
