‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Jonah Hill, Leslie Jones discuss the future with … Future

SNL -In just one day’s time the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live” is upon us with Jonah Hill as the host, and we’re pleased to say two things about the latest promo below: It’s funny, and that someone at NBC has gotten the hint about loading up the promo itself with advertisements to go along with the advertisement they make you watch before the video even loads.

Within the promo Hill first jokes to Leslie Jones that he is her favorite rapper, when in reality it is (at least for the sake of the joke) the show’s musical guest in Future. Later, Future looks into the actual future of the show for the two, and he also teaches Jonah how to wear a hoodie. Moderately funny stuff, or at least as funny as a promo for the show is going to be.

Future’s presence on the show is perhaps the most notable to us since he is the second straight hip-hop artist to appear. there was a time when “SNL” did not feature much of this genre at all, so it is a little interesting that they are now doubling up. It shows a change of course both in terms of what producers are looking for, and also in terms of what is currently popular across the musical landscape.

Also, this weekend’s episode is going to be interesting from some other perspectives. For example, can Jason Sudeikis be convinced to return as Mitt Romney, given the blistering speech he made about Donald Trump earlier this week?
