‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Scandal,’ ‘Agents of SHIELD,’ and more renewed by ABC; view full list

It could happen -

Today has been a day of gradual renewals over at ABC, and we now know the full roster of programs that the alphabet network has handed out early renewals for. It’s a rare move for the network to do so this early, but ultimately, we feel like this move was planned out to be an early show of confidence by a new programming head looking to shake a few things up here and there.

In total, here are the shows confirmed to be coming back: “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “black-ish,” “The Goldbergs,” “Agents of SHIELD,” “Shark Tank,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “The Bachelor,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Modern Family,” “Quantico,” and “Once Upon a Time.” Of this group, there really is not any surprise other than maybe “SHIELD,” which has posted some lower ratings this season … but apparently not so much that there is any reason to be worried about its future.

Here’s one part of this mass renewal that we find interesting: ABC has now effectively locked in at least one hour of every night in which they program, and in some cases, it stretches even beyond that. This is looking as a whole like it will be a robust lineup of programming, and we’re interested to see which bubble shows get a chance to join the team.

With that in mind, be sure to stay tuned for a little bit of a larger analysis of some of the shows that are still floating around out there, hoping for some sort of renewal news to come soon.
