‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Matthew Morrison teases Connor Fox’s arrival
There is some trouble coming up for Peter Florrick on Sunday night’s new episode of “The Good Wife,” and it stems back to him having to metaphorically pay the piper for some of his past incidents. In this case, the “piper” will be none other than Connor Fox, the ambitious U.S. Attorney who will be played on this show by none other than “Glee” alum Matthew Morrison.
There are some parallels between Fox and another character we’ve seen on TV recently: Anita Gibbs, the powerful U.S. Attorney we saw on “Suits” recently played by Leslie Hope. As Morrison noted per TVLine, his character is someone who works hard to do the right thing and execute it, even if that comes at the expense of other beloved characters due to his aggressive nature:
“These characters are so beloved — and I’m definitely stirring the pot. I’m sure there’ll be a backlash, but that’s OK,” he says. “It’s a fun part to play. I don’t usually get to play what I guess you would call the villain — even though he does believe he’s doing good.”
For the most part, our major hope here is that Morrison brings about some sort of closure for Peter, who is a character who has always flirted with disaster but never really found it. Now that he has lost the Presidential election and is back in the Governor’s chair, it is only so long before disaster would find him. Ruth warned us, and now we are at the place in which it is about to happen.
