Is ‘American Idol 15’ new tonight on Fox?

For those of you who have been scouting to see whether or not there is a new episode of “American Idol 15” coming on the air Wednesday night, we do come bearing some not-so-great news: The singing show is at present off the air.

What happened? Well, it’s just all about timing. After spending the past few weeks airing on both Wednesday and Thursday, we’re not at the point in which the show is happy to go back to a once-a-week format similar to what it did last year. Thursday is now the exclusive night for the show, while “Rosewood” is now airing in the place of it.

As for what you can expect to see on Thursday’s episode, it begins with the results. At some point over the course of the show, the final ten contestants are going to become the top eight, and they will perform the songs of their choosing. Given that we are dealing with a shorter run of live shows this season, we’re going to probably see fewer theme weeks and gimmicks. At this point, this is going to be a chance to get to know more about who some of these artists are before we get close to the end of the season.
