‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 16 video: Watch Danny Glover as Derek’s father

While we try to avoid hyping up too many episodes of any one show in fear of looking like we are doing the same job of a network, all indications right now suggest that Wednesday night’s new “Criminal Minds” episode will be a big one.

In this episode entitled “Derek,” we’re going to see Morgan (Shemar Moore, pictured above) struggle with a life-or-death situation after being abducted. Through this, he’s going to have visions / dreams where he envisions himself with his father (played by the legendary Danny Glover). One of his theories is that these visions are in some ways a distraction, and a way to keep his head stable while his body fights for its life.

Should you be worried that the show is going to be losing on of its longstanding series regulars? We have to say so, given the history of titling episodes after specific characters so far. Also, Moore’s been a part of this series a long time, and sooner or later he may decide that he wants to try out some other things with his career. We don’t want to make too many promises one way or another with this episode. Instead, our advice is simply to take a wait-and-see approach, and we’ll be glued to the TV every moment that this episode is on the air.

If nothing else, be prepared for this episode to be a master class in acting. You’ve got Moore pushing himself to the limit, and any time you get Glover on TV these days is worthy of celebrating.
