‘Agent Carter’ season 2 finale spoilers: Hayley Atwell on major threat from Whitney Frost

The finale for season 2 of Marvel’s “Agent Carter” is coming to ABC on Tuesday night, and you better believe that this is going to be a showdown for the ages. In one corner, you have Peggy, whereas in the other you have Whitney Frost, a woman whose absorption of Zero Matter has turned her into a killing machine. Her thirst for more has made her dangerous to almost everyone she has come into contact with, but the good news for Peggy may be that this also makes her someone who is vulnerable. If she can exploit Whitney’s need for more, she may be able to determine a proper way for her to defeat her.

In speaking to Entertainment Weekly about what may be the series’ final episode (we are most likely not going to know the fate of it until later this spring), Hayley Atwell had the following message to pass along:

“At this point, you realize the extent of Whitney’s abuse of power … She’s going to lose everything around her in a desperate attempt to get more and more and more of it, similar to like an addict would. I think she’s kind of an addict, and Zero Matter is her drug of choice.

“Whitney is someone who is very dangerous. She’s a psychopath, even to the point where her own people have turned against her. What’s scary is that because Whitney’s so bright and so smart, you don’t know what she’s going to do next or what her next move is. It’s quite scary for Peggy to try to work out. Unfortunately, it happens that Whitney’s used her brain for the force of evil.”

Let’s just hope that there is some sort of proper resolution to this story; while we’d love to see Peggy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again even if “Agent Carter” is canceled, the reality here is that there are no guarantees. You have to prepare yourself for all possibilities.
