‘Supergirl’ episode 15 preview: Laura Vandervoort on playing Indigo
Tonight, an all-new episode of “Supergirl” is arriving on CBS, and it is going to mark a chance to see one of the more interesting showdowns we’ve seen so far. In one corner, you have Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), protector of National City and a superhero still trying to figure it all out. Meanwhile, in the other corner you have Indigo. Laura Vandervoort, otherwise known as the former Supergirl from “Smallville” fame, is going to be guest-starring as the villain. She’s powerful, and also very different than any other one we’ve seen on the show this season.
So what makes her such a threat? This is something that Vandervoort really does an excellent job at describing in a new interview with TVLine:
“She’s a pretty great nemesis for Supergirl. She’s matched in strength, and the fact that she’s able to transport through the Internet and technology makes her hard to grab. She can pop up at any point, anywhere. She can move through computers to get to people on the other side. There’s that extra quality to her that Supergirl can’t always handle. And Supergirl actually goes to the Fortress of Solitude to try to find a way and learn how to properly fight Indigo, because she is so frustrated with the fact that she can’t defeat her.”
to us, one of the most impressive things about this character remains the work that the costume and makeup department put into this. While we’ve been impressed with some other creations that they have pulled off, Indigo surpasses Red Tornado and Livewire to be the coolest villain we’ve seen so far.
