‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 16 preview: Callie makes her relationship with AJ clear

Relationship drama and “The Fosters” in many ways go hand in hand, and with that, you really cannot be too surprised that the latest with Callie and AJ is taking center stage through at least a part of Monday night’s new episode … even without him present for it.

In this sneak peek below, Callie makes it clear to Stef and Lena that she and AJ are dating, and the two make it clear that since there are no real legal hurdles that they have to deal with since they are not fostering him (Mike is), there don’t really have a major issue with it. Granted, they do hand out the same list of rules for the two of them that they would for any couple, and we imagine that they may keep even more of a watchful eye in this situation given that Mike is going to be around the house a lot. As a matter of fact, he may even be staying with the family temporarily while Mike is away.

The one part of this preview that makes it a little more dramatic is the big reveal that Brandon seems to overhear almost all of this, and given the history that Callie has with him, this may not be the easiest thing in the world for him to deal with. Do we think that he wants her to be happy? Absolutely, but he’s a teenager who still harbors his own feelings, so even in spite of their obvious hurdles this may still not be something that he is able to process very well.
