‘Blindspot’ spoilers: A further look into Weller’s personal life

Given that we’ve spent a whole lot of time in some of these “Blindspot” articles as of late talking about Jane Doe, isn’t the timing right to spend a moment or two on the Weller character? We like to think so, and we’re happy to do so within the span of this article.

In speaking more about the character’s arc moving forward this season to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Martin Gero had the following to say about how his family is going to strongly influence some of what is coming up for him this season:

“Weller’s home life gets a lot more attention in this back half of the season as he tries to mend the fence with his dad,” EP Martin Gero says. “His dad is dying of cancer. He was on his last legs at the beginning of the season and he didn’t have that much to live. Bill’s not in great shape. Weller trying to mend his relationship with his father before his father dies is going to be a really powerful part of our story.”

Hopefully by the time we make it to the end of the show’s first episode back Monday, we’ll have a little more information regarding what to expect. For now, though, let’s just say that we anticipate there being some emotional developments that help to endear us more to him, and in turn also better understand the dynamic with him and Jane.
