‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Lauren Bushnell, Ben Higgins set for big overnight date

Is Ben Higgins getting closer to getting down on one knee and proposing to Lauren Bushnell on “The Bachelor“? We’re not sure that we can definitely say this at the moment, but we are confident that the relationship between the two is heading in that direction.

In the ABC synopsis below, you can get some more information regarding their upcoming one-on-one date that will be in some ways a game-changer … though we do think that it’s not necessarily something that is as enormous a shocker as it seems:

“Lauren B. joins Ben on a preservation mission of baby turtles. Afterwards, the couple sits on the beach, discussing their potential future together and the emotional hometown date they shared last week. Lauren finally has her own breakthrough, finally telling Ben she loves him. But what Ben replies will shock Bachelor Nation and make Bachelor history.”

How could he reply? It feels pretty obvious that Lauren is one of the two women that he will say “I love you” to. The other one is probably JoJo Fletcher, given that she is someone who he has expressed some similar feelings to over time. Telling two women that you love them isn’t really something that the Bachelor does, but we’re not sure that this is some huge fundamental shift in the franchise. It’s not that unheard-of for the leading man to admit to having really strong feelings for multiple women by the time you make it close to the end. He can’t pick both women, whoever they are, so he will need to make a choice.
