‘Shark Tank’ video: Can Teaspressa really get coffee drinkers on board?
We’re back now with yet another preview for Friday night’s new episode of “Shark Tank,” and this time around, we are talking about a product that is truly trying to live up to its hybrid billing. While Teaspressa may technically be a tea, the twist here is that it tastes more like a coffee, and has the consistency and the brewing that you would expect more from an espresso.
So why go through all of this trouble? The simple answer here seems to be that in doing this, you get a product that will appeal to coffee drinkers without some of the crash or the headaches that can come with coffee … but with a similar amount of caffeine content. The presentation tries to make it as clear as possible, but we wish the sneak peek below was long enough to give us a clear demonstration of precisely what it looks like. Maybe that will change in the episode.
Can something like this get a deal with the Sharks? We consider it to be a toss-up. The idea here seems strong on paper, and as a coffee-drinker we’re always looking to try out some other things. The main issue we see here for the most part is the education needed to pull this off. We have a hard time seeing people understanding just based on the packaging alone, and we don’t see it at your standard grocery store. It could do well in more of a specialty market or online, but you have to ensure that customers know who you are.
