Ratings: ‘The 100’ season 3 surges; ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ improves; ‘Big Bang Theory’ down for 200th episode

200 -

Apparently, all “Legends of Tomorrow” needed in order to reverse some of its recent ratings fortune was bring in a certain Oliver Queen to shake things up and excite some fans.

The good news – For its episode entitled “Star City 2046,” the show scored a solid 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a series that needed to stabilize itself somewhat to show that it is a concept worthy of exploring further. We’ve felt that it has had some unfortunate creative hurdles so far, with one of the biggest ones being that the concept feels repetitive. If the show gets a second season, it may get a chance to work out some of those bumps.

Maybe thanks in part to a stronger lead-in, “The 100” also rose to a 0.6 rating, improving significantly in the demo from the last installment. Sure, it’s possible it adjusts down, but even if it does we have another reminder here that its fans are stable and the show’s probably not going anywhere. The only other huge change was the rise in “2 Broke Girls” to a 1.7.

The bad news – While it’s hardly “bad” that “The Big Bang Theory” scored a 3.7 rating (winning the night) for its 200th episode, we assumed that the show would get a bigger number given that this is such a milestone and you had so many guest stars. Currently, it is down a tiny amount from the final rating from last week. As a whole, though, the majority of the shows that were down were down by so little that none of it is particularly notable. It was a pretty steady night for TV all around.
