‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Tomlinson of One Direction would love to replace Nick Grimshaw

The latest news -While we have no official confirmation at the moment that Louis Tomlinson is going to be the replacement for Nick Grimshaw on the upcoming season of “The X Factor” UK, we’re starting to get more and more confirmation at the moment that the One Direction member has to be at the top of potential targets for Simon Cowell. He’s super-famous, interested in helping other artists, and knows the show backwards and forwards. We don’t quite know how you’re going to find someone better for the role.

Speaking to The Sun at the BRIT Awards, Louis also made his interest in taking part on the show clear:

“Of course, it’s really exciting … We’ve had no official conversation yet. But yeah, I mean, why wouldn’t I [want to be a judge]?”

One thing that could also work out for Louis this year is that One Direction is currently taking a little bit of a hiatus to recharge and spend some more time doing their own thing, which means that the touring schedule isn’t going to be so frantic. Louis hasn’t had the time in the past to focus on being a judge, and while we’re not sure that this could be a multi-year gig for him if things pick up with the band again, it could be a great thing for him to do this year that raises his solo profile and also brings the show a much-needed ratings boost.

At the moment we know that “The X Factor” is trying to retool a few things for the upcoming season. For example, Dermot O’Leary is in talks to return following the exit of Caroline Flack and Olly Murs. The panel of judges should be confirmed at some point in the spring.
