‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Sean Maguire tees up Underworld story

We know for certain that “Once Upon a Time” is going to some dark places for the upcoming second half of season 5, and we have to assume that within these said places there is plenty of pain and plenty of struggle. This is what happens when you realize that the dead suddenly have voices again, and these are things that you have to fully contend with.

As expected, the Underworld is also going to have different impacts on almost every character. Some may be able to handle it rather effortlessly, while for some others, dealing with this world could be an enormous struggle. How could it impact Robin? While Sean Maguire was hesitant to disclose any significant amount of information to TVLine, he did give what we’d consider to be a rather epic tease about the remainder of the season:

“We’re going to the Underworld, so I don’t expect much good stuff is going to happen! But as to where it’s going to lead [for Robin], I can’t say … There are obstacles everywhere — a lot of bad people from the past are coming back and they are not too happy with our heroes. If Once Upon a Time was the Star Wars franchise, this would be Empire Strikes Back. It’s going to get dark, it’s going to be scary, and there will be surprises.”

We hope that everything will remain okay for Robin and Regina through this process, since it’s pretty possible that going into the Underworld will expose some of the many skeletons that she has in the closet. Nobody wants to be reminder of their past, especially when said past includes being the Evil Queen.
