‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 15 reaction: ‘Who is the Man in the Iron Mask’ revisited?
Clearly, “The Flash” is not done playing with your head just yet when it comes to determining the identity of the Man in the Iron Mask. We saw him at the end of Tuesday night’s episode, and while we learned the identity of Zoom (SPOILERS ahead), we still do not know who this man is or why he was able to clue in the truth: Jay Garrick was seemingly the Big Bad of the season this whole time.
In speaking about the Iron Mask mystery, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said the following to TVLine:
“The mystery of the Man in the Iron Mask will play out over the rest of the season with some clues being layered in along the way … When you do find out who it is, everything will make sense in a very satisfying way.”
In other words, be prepared for some more clues, and further information to have the puzzle fit together. At the moment, we’d say that the Jay – Zoom reveal puts Hunter Zolomon a.k.a. Earth-1’s version of Jay at the top of the list, mostly because we don’t know who else would precisely make sense given what we know at the moment. We’ve already met two iterations of Barry, and there hasn’t been any evidence that it could be someone like Henry Allen, Harrison Wells, Wally West, or anyone else. Then again, now that we do have some further clues, this is something the show could start to investigate further. Stay tuned…

The Man in the Iron Mask is the REAL Jay Garrick. Last week as Barry was saying Jay was on Earth One the Masked Man taps out “ME” in the POW code. Clever by the writers to make it seem like he was incoherent in his anger but it is there. This episode also sets up a return of Jay Garrick with that helmet memorial. At some point the fight against Zoom comes to Earth 1 and by then the masked man will be freed, breaking the glass, claiming his helmet, and triumphantly return as the real Earth 2 Flash to help Barry.
Still doesn’t explain how everyone in Wells flashbacks recognized the Sears character as The Flash though. I’ve heard the Twins theory too. Maybe it’s some combination of Edward Clarriss aka “The Rival” and Hunter Zolomon in the comics. Maybe there’s some identity stealing and another character is cloning Garrick or using something similar to what Thawne used on Wells in season one. Perhaps the Jay Garrick is actually the Henry Allen of Earth 2! Who’s to say the story we heard Zoom tell Caitlyn about how Zolomon on Earth 1 was adopted after his birth mother died doesn’t apply in actuality to Henry on Earth 2? Maybe on Earth 2 he goes by Jay Garrick because of that and that Barry has a different father or perhaps he is Earth 2 Barry’s father but was presumed dead or never raised his son because of a situation similar to Earth 1 Wally. I still can’t imagine that shot of the 90s series Flash was just a throwaway. Somethings coming of that

A guy named pagey on youtube had this wonderful theory about zolomon and jay garrick being twins separated at birth on both earths. I think this is now starting to make sense . It was something like mr robot where we were believing on a false narration.
