‘The X-Files’ season 10 finale spoilers: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson on ‘My Struggle: Part II’

In just a matter of two short days, the “X-Files” event series will be over as we know it … and we will immediately start to feel rather sad. We knew going into this that it was probably going to feel short, but this short? Somehow, we’re still surprised, even if we did know that it was coming.

In the video below, you can hear series stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny set up the end of the story for the time being, and that includes the return of the Cigarette Smoking Man, his cabal, and all of the intrigue that comes along with him. There are going to be quite a few fun developments that we’ll be watching out for over the course of this episode, since Duchovny mentions that in many ways, this story is somewhat of a twist on how “The X-Files” often does business.

The end of the video is especially fun, mostly in the way that Anderson and Duchovny tease the end of the story. They’re having a good time, and it’s nice to see that even in videos promoting the show that could feel tiresome if there were some other people doing them.

The last thing that we will say about this finale is rather simple: Please watch live. We feel like the odds are high right now that Fox will bring the show back for at least another six episodes based on the ratings, but big numbers for the last installment of the season could go a long way.
