‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: Carice van Houten plays up Melisandre character, hints at Jon Snow’s future (video)
Even though Melisandre may be to date one of the characters on “Game of Thrones” that tends to incite the most rage, for the most part it has little to do with the performance of one Carice van Houten. She’s fantastic, mysterious, and even at times terrifying. There is something rather unnerving that the fate of one Jon Snow could be in her hands.
While to date it has not been confirmed if Kit Harington will continue to be a part of the HBO show’s upcoming sixth season, the general consensus among fans is that this character could be the one to bring him back. This is something that Carice van Houten had a little bit of fun with in a pair of videos below from “Late Night with Seth Meyers” this week.
In the first one, we get what is basically a fun little mock baby shower for Seth and his wife Alexi. Seth apparently invited the Red Woman in an attempt to get her to open up more and express a little more kindness, but instead, she only ends up being even more terrifying. There is a good Jon reference in here, so we recommend sticking with the video from start to finish.
As for the second video, this is more of your standard interview. In here, Carice discusses some of the key differences between the upcoming season and the ones that have been done so far, especially when it comes to the logistics of it all. After all, this is the first time that a season of the show is coming out before a George R.R. Martin book featuring many of the same events.
