‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 6, episode 15 reaction: Julie Benz on big Abby surprise

Hawaii -Over the course of “Hawaii Five-0” season 6 so far, we’ve had a great opportunity to see a wide array of different stories … and this includes seeing Chin start to forge a real relationship with Abby. What’s the problem here? That we’ve just had a chance to uncover that Abby is not exactly the woman that we thought that she was.

At the end of Friday’s episode, it was made clear that Abby is working secretly for the FBI to investigate the Five-0 and its methods. It’s a difficult covert mission for her, given that she does have some feelings for Daniel Dae Kim’s character; unfortunately, she still has a job to do, and based on what Julie Benz told TVLine recently, this is only going to get more complicated for her moving forward:

“She’s working for federal prosecutor Robert Coughlin (played by Ingo Rademacher), who has his own personal agenda as to why he wants to take down Five-0. When his agenda comes out, it really puts Abby in a bind because she doesn’t like to be manipulated. She doesn’t want to be a part of someone’s personal vendetta. And she really does feel that what Five-0 stands for, what they’re doing, is great, and she has not observed any abuse of power. She’s put in a really tough position where she has to decide between doing her job and following her heart.”

Ultimately, we do still have hope for Chin and Abby in the long-term. If anyone is going to understand the importance and difficulties that come with a job in law enforcement it’s going to be Chin … even if he is angry about it for a little while.
