‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Brett Dalton teases new version of Ward
The third season of “Agents of SHIELD” is going to be returning to ABC on Tuesday, March 8, and when the series comes on the air, you are of course going to see a very different side to Brett Dalton’s Ward. As a matter of fact, he’s not even really Ward at all. He’s an entity who is hard to describe, of course other than the fact that he is operating now under a very new and dangerous agenda as controlled by a beast.
Of course, Brett Dalton cannot say too much about this role just yet, at least other than what he teased up in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“This is a new version of Ward … The Ward that we know and love is not there anymore. He’s going to be a little different. He’s inhabited by another creature which has existed for centuries on this other world called Maveth. There have been monuments that have been built in his honor. He has access to all of the thoughts and memories that Ward had.”
We’re thoroughly excited about this second half of the season for “Ward,” mostly because the producers have found a unique way to continue to use Dalton when we’re not sure that they would have otherwise. There sometimes can be a tipping point with villains where they go so big and evil with some of their actions that it is hard to come back from that. Ward was there, which is why Coulson finally took him down. This is a great chance for rebirth, and for us to see something that should be very exciting.
