‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6 spoilers: First look at story of ‘East Meets West’

We’ve already made it through the first two episodes of “Rizzoli & Isles” season 6B, and within those episodes we have seen Jane struggle already with the idea of having to ensure that Maura, Angela, and some other close to her are protected properly from her unknown attacker.

However, is she going to be fixated on that for the rest of the season? Not necessarily. As a matter of fact, the synopsis below for the upcoming March 1 episode entitled “East Meets West” suggests that there are going to be some other priorities for Jane and Maura to collectively focus on:

“When a gun battle rages in a quiet neighborhood, leaving one dead, Jane and Maura are thrown into the secretive world of an Eastern European gang. Maura comes down with a fever while juggling work and play, and Angela and Kent prescribe several home-remedies that have a surprising effect.”

We’re hoping that the story with Maura’s “juggling” does enough to balance out what we personally think is a little bit of an overdone crime-show trope: Eastern Europeans gangs. We’ve seen plenty of mobs on other shows over the years, and it is incredibly hard to find some new ground here that has not been done on a different show at some point or another.

We’ll have some other news on this episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” and more very soon, so be on the lookout for that! There’s one other installment coming on Tuesday, and it will be one that is a little more horror-themed.
