‘Supergirl’ spoilers: First photo of Italia Ricci as Silver Banshee!
There are some terrifying times coming up for many of the characters on “Supergirl,” largely in that they will be squaring off against one of the most notorious DC villains that we have seen to date: Silver Banshee. Her supersonic screams are such that they could pierce the eardrums of any normal person, and she also possesses strength and speed unlike almost any other denizen of earth.
The first photo of the Silver Banshee (played by Italia Ricci) below comes via “Entertainment Tonight,” and it shows her in full terrifying scream-mode. Massive kudos here to the makeup team, who we feel did a really good job of capturing some of the character’s look from the comics. One thing that you do have to remember here is that this is simply an on-set image, and when we get a chance to actually see her on the show, the character will probably be amped up even more when it comes to special effects.
In the end, we’re glad that the show isn’t changing too much up from the original concept for Silver Banshee, and there was no real need to. Also, we continue to be thrilled at the show’s ability to get a number of interesting female villains aboard. That’s something that we have seen some other shows within the Greg Berlanti – DC Universe struggle with from time to time, especially when it comes to making them more than people we just see for an episode or two.
Ricci will make her debut as the character’s alter-ego Siobhan Smythe on the upcoming episode Monday night; the biggest battle with this character will come in late March, presumably for the same episode featuring Grant Gustin from ‘The Flash”
