‘Scorpion’ season 2 spoilers: Show exec on what’s next for Happy, Toby

The second season of “Scorpion” is going to be airing a new episode on CBS Monday night, and this one in particular could mean that interesting developments are coming in the Happy – Toby relationship. Why? Think of this as the first real opportunity for the couple to actually face the reaction from some of the other team members to their relationship, and there could be some interesting things that come out of this.

On surprise comes courtesy of executive producer Nick Santora, who had the following message to pass along to TVLine:

“Let’s say that the reactions will vary throughout the team, but not everyone is going to be thrilled with it.”

Could this reaction lead to problems for the two characters? While it may be wrong to necessarily call them “problems,” fellow EP Nick Wootton tells the site that we will be seeing these characters deal with issues in many different ways than the average couple, and for a variety of different reasons:

“This is a relationship that can be as tempestuous as we want it to be. Toby is such a livewire, and Happy is not used to making commitments … It’s really anything goes for this relationship, and that makes it very fun to plot out.”

We obviously hope that these two find a way to work through whatever issues that they may have; not only that, but we’re also hoping that this relationship will allow Walter and Paige to think more about the things that they are not saying to each other. If the feelings are there, why not make a move?
