‘Vikings’ season 4 spoilers: Show boss on more death ahead

The fourth season of “Vikings” is coming your way on History tonight, so why not let out one more tease before we get around to it airing?

While of course it is the responsible for the cast and crew to do what they can to hype up a season as the best thing that has ever been done, we do still put a little bit of stock in people saying that. Maybe a part of that is because there are other ways that these same people could comment on the experience if they really chose to do so, and given where we are in the story of Ragnar, we know that some big things have to be coming up.

With that in mind, we present for you now the first tease from creator Michael Hirst to TV Guide:

“Personally, I think this is our best season … And yes, there are some devastating moments that were – as usual for me – quite difficult to write and to say goodbye to people. We do death very well I think in Vikings, but it’s a hard road.”

In many ways, this series has to be painful because for many people, you’re just biding your time before something terrible does happen to your character. More than likely, you know that it’s coming in advance, but over time you inevitably do forge bonds with people and it becomes harder to deal with them leaving. Given that there are 20 episodes coming over the course of the next year, you may have to prepare for that in many ways than ever before.
