‘Chicago PD’ season 3, episode 16 preview: ‘The Cases That Need to Be Solved’

Chicago PD -While there have been some very strong character-based episodes of “Chicago PD” over the season so far, next week’s all-new episode “The Cases That Need to Be Solved” is going to be taking a rather different approach. Specifically, the show is taking on some of the most hot-button issues we’ve seen in the news. There will be elements of racial tension and the Black Lives Matter movement in this episode, and you’re also going to see the police struggle to keep the community on their side rather than have this act divide the city altogether.

You can see the synopsis for this episode of further details below:

“When a young boy is executed, Intelligence turn to the boy’s parents for information and upon further investigation, discover the father has a criminal background and was a part of a local gang. After another shooting in gang territory, this time nonfatal, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) speak to the victim’s mother to see if the two crimes are related and Mouse (guest star Samuel Hunt) works to find a connection. To honor the deceased young victim, Antonio (Jon Seda), Platt (Amy Morton), Roman (Brian Geraghty), Burguess (Marina Squerciati), Mouse and a number of other CPD officers and members of the community come together for a candlelight vigil.”

NBC is promoting this episode as one of the most anticipated of the season so far, and we’re certainly inclined to believe them that this will be powerful. One of their biggest challenges could just be figuring out how to tie it all together within the span of an hour.
