‘American Idol 15’ videos: Adam Lasher, Dalton Rapattoni try to impress the judges
Over the course of the next several hours, the remaining top 24 contestants on “American Idol” are going to have a chance to hit the stage and impress the judges … and what we are here to do right now is present our complete take on how they are going to do in this effort.
Adam Lasher, “Black and Gold” – While this is not the most vocally powerful song that Adam could’ve chosen, we like that he went with a Sam Sparro number that hasn’t been entirely overdone.
Also, we dig the styling here, and that he seems almost entirely comfortable with who he is. We’re still not sure that he will make it through, though, just based on the fact that there seems to be a limit on the number of guitar-playing dudes the show wants this season.
Still, we’re an Adam fan. He’s probably one of the most talented people left, especially when you think in terms of musicianship.
Dalton Rapattoni, “Rebel Yell” – Still, Dalton remains this competition’s greatest enigma to us. He is probably that guy you can look at and say “he’s got potential” more so than anyone else this season, but at the same exact time he’s also someone who we think has some things that need to be worked on in his voice. Like with Adam, though, we do love that he’s doing a song that has not been overly done and/or beaten into the ground. Given that he has a unique look compared to some of the other contestants, we at least think he’s got a decent chance of pushing forward.
