‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Could JoJo Fletcher’s brothers, ex-boyfriend ruin hometown date with Ben Higgins?

Typically when things go wrong on hometown dates on “The Bachelor,” they do so because of just one key event. In the case of JoJo Fletcher, however, it appears so though she has two separate problems that she’s going to be dealing with. We’ll let the synopsis below from the upcoming date with Ben Higgins speak for itself:

“The biggest shocker awaits Ben in Dallas when he arrives to see JoJo. An ex-boyfriend suddenly appears, trying to get back in her good graces. Ben finds things go from bad to worse as Jo Jo’s two older brothers are less than pleased with how their sister is searching for love. They are convinced she is headed for heartache. Will a dramatic face-off between Ben and the brothers put Ben’s relationship with JoJo in danger?”

First of all, who let the ex-boyfriend suddenly appear? We wish we didn’t have to wear the product conspiracy cap here, but clearly the crew could’ve kept this guy from turning up and impacting the date in some way if they had really wanted to. As for the brothers, either they’re thirsty for fame, genuinely concerned, or putting her in the position to have a great “Bachelorette” narrative. It’s tough to say too much without even really knowing these people, but they have to know that they’re getting filmed for TV when they’re speaking out.

We’ll have some more news on the hometown dates episodes over the next couple of days; for now, it just feels like JoJo’s date could be the one with the most long-term ramifications given that she and Lauren Bushnell are the current favorites in our head to be his pick at the end of the season.
