‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ rumors: Is Scott Disick really being offered gig?

dwtsNow that we’re getting close to the end of “The Bachelor” this season, it’s time to play a little bit of “Dancing with the Stars” rumor patrol. This time around, the name apparently floating around is none other than Scott Disick.

According to TMZ, producers for the ABC reality show has made it clear to Kourtney Kardashian’s ex that they are interested in having him be a part of the show, but the point of contention could be a price. The show doesn’t like to pay its contestants more than a standard $125,000 for starting out of the gate; from here, they can make almost $350,000 if they make it to the finals. That’s ultimately chump-change for Disick, who is reportedly seeking $500,000.

Here’s the part of this rumor that we don’t get: Is the whole question of money really symbolic? Based on the amount of money that we believe Disick to have, an extremely $150,000 or so isn’t going to make that much of a difference to his account at the end of the day. This is a show that is largely all about image, and it could do wonders for him if he comes on and comes across as likable. For a time this show helped Rob Kardashian significantly, and while many people out there may not remember it, Kim Kardashian was a contestant before she started to become more of a household name. Suffice it to say, Rob fared much better on the show.

“Dancing with the Stars” has long been on the prowl for someone else in this family, having asked Bruce Jenner before the transition, and then supposedly asking Caitlyn Jenner after the fact. While not confirmed, we’d be shocked if they never at least made overtures to at least one of the other famous sisters, though many of them are successful enough now that they really don’t need this show.
