‘American Idol 15’ preview: Trent Harmon, Jenn Blosil, Adam Lasher, more set for second top 12 show

Last week on “American Idol,” we saw the first group of 12 singers take the stage in hopes of making it to the next round, and out of that group, seven of them in Thomas Stringfellow, La’Porsha Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Jeneve Rose Mitchell, Sonika Vaid, Gianna Isabella, and Avalon Young are advancing. That’s five women and only two men.

Does this mean that there are going to be more men than women advancing in the second field? Not necessarily, since we really think that the show more than anything is going for picking the people who they simply believe are some of the most talented. The group that is performing on Wednesday includes the likes of Amelia Eisenhauer, Jenn Blosil, Adam Lasher, Trent Harmon, Lee Jean, CJ Johnson, Dalton Rapattoni, Tristan McIntosh, Manny Torres, Shelbie Z., Olivia Rox, and Kory Wheeler.

Of this group, who are the likely locks? We’d say first and foremost Manny given that he had the very last audition of the season and we don’t seen the show wanting to get rid of him at any point in the near future. Meanwhile, Jenn and Trent have had some really incredible performances so far, even if the latter has been sick with mono the majority of the times that we’ve seen him so far.

The good thing about this list, though, is that there is very little cannon fodder in here. There are situations in which we could see almost all of these people advancing. Sure, we’re not the biggest fan of Dalton’s, but we can see easily situations how he would advance. Olivia and Amelia are two of our favorite underdogs this season.
