‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Quick look at Slingshot adaptation!
For many weeks now, we have lamented the fact that Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” is not coming on the air over at ABC until Tuesday, March 8. With that being said, we’re glad to see that this is actually not that fair away anymore, and to go along with that, we’re starting to see more of the characters who are going to be introduced … including Slingshot.
Per ComicBook.com, the photo below is of Natalia Cordova-Buckley in the role of Elena Rodriguez, a character who becomes an Inhuman and has the alter ego of Slingshot. As for how much of that is used on the show, that remains to be seen, but she has some unique abilities that could become useful in the formation of the Secret Warriors in the second half of this season.
One fairly common ability in the superhero world that Slingshot has is super-speed, but what makes her stand out from many of them is then her ability to snap back right to where she started. It’s unclear just what the limitations of this are going to be, but we imagine that this could have both some useful applications and also be somewhat of a hindrance if you were wanting to not have to go right back to the start every time.
This casting does indicate more and more than in an effort to stop Gideon Malick and eventually the Beast once Coulson and company learn that Ward is still out there in some form, SHIELD is going to need some help in interesting places. Who better to fight powerful people than people with power?
